Mercer Veterinary Clinic

Caring, Educating, Healing

Since 1992, Mercer Veterinary Clinic has provided free veterinary care to the pets of individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in Sacramento and Yolo counties.

Our two monthly clinic locations provide:

  • Wellness exams and vaccinations.

  • Problem-based medical exams, including diagnostics and treatment.

  • Flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives.

  • Pet food, including prescription diets.

  • Referral for spay/neuter.

  • Additional procedures, including dentistry and surgery, are performed at our Sacramento facility or referred to other clinics as needed.

Mercer Veterinary Clinic is:

  •  A 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

  • Run entirely by volunteers–UC Davis veterinary students, UC Davis undergraduate students, and local veterinarians.

  • Funded entirely by generous donations and grants.
